Our structural investigations team offers a staged inspection and evaluation service comprising: initial survey; advanced evaluation; and design development/ on-site supervision to give the appropriate level of consultancy. Our service include species identification, structural evaluation, non-destructive timber condition and defects surveys, ultrasound survey/advanced material assessment techniques and in-situ timber strength grading assessments.
The conservation and regeneration of historic and modern structures is a key part of our consultancy. We undertake inspection and condition surveys to evaluate the condition of the timber, both in buildings and in large structures such as bridges, communication towers and staging. We can then provide guidance on methods of repair and remedial treatment. We also have extensive UKAS-accredited laboratory facilities for in-depth analyses of samples or components removed from site.
